Shale gas has been introduced to the world as new fossil fuel to meet our energy needs. But shale gas and the method used to get shale gas-fracking- has serious negative effects on the environment. Shale gas wells are directly connected with the methane gas increase, which, aside from being toxic, is a greenhouse gas.
While fracking up to 10 million gallons of water is used, per week and only %10 of this largely water fluid returns to the surface and is also toxic if not refined correctly.
